So Mom and Dad came and went. We had a great time together, it was nice showing them all that I could. They arrived on the 11th and we stayed around here and explored this area the first 2 days. We went to Aachen, toured the dome, the treasury, the three country point and the old city in Aachen. On Saturday the family invited us to a dinner in Liege - my favorite place to eat! It was a great time having everyone together!

On Sunday we traveled to Brussels by train and had a wonderful sunshiny day there! We shopped in the market place for a bit and just walked around the city looking at the architecture stopping for a Belgium Waffle before leaving.

On Monday we drove up to Amsterdam. We first went to the Keukenhof which was almost all in bloom! We spent about 3 hours there and then headed into the city center for a bite and quick walk through the Red Light District. We couldn't stay long because we had a flight to Liverpool that evening. We arrived in Liverpool late that night and Debra met us at the airport.

Because of a misunderstanding, we missed our flight out of Liverpool back to Amsterdam. We stayed another night in an old house that had been converted into a hotel. It was really nice. The next morning we flew back to Amsterdam and all decided that we were too tired to return into the city so we drove home and spent the day relaxing. That evening Dad and I took a walk to a castle in Kelmis then we all joined the family for a dinner that included French wines, typical German and French dishes, and the very special huge white asparagus that is only in season 3 weeks a year! The next day Natalie, Josephine and I took the parents to Dusseldorf and said goodbye. It was a short trip that exhausted all of us- but good!
